Recently, students of Arcadia British School were introduced to Transcorp International as part of the school Careers Week. It was a career-oriented visit organized to provide the students with both classroom and industry exposure.
The tour started by the warm reception organized by Mayurika Mitra (HR Business Partner), who presented Transcorp International as one of the most popular logistics organizations and led students through the main functions and the main departments of this company. The session gave a vivid insight into the way in which logistics interrelate people, goods, and markets whether locally or globally with the help of coordinated operations, fleet management, technology and safety systems.
One of the main areas of the visit was the role of technology in the contemporary logistics. Students were taught that digital tools can help optimize the route and track the fleet, make decisions based on the data and increase the efficiency in operations. An overview of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, with the focus on the way the safety culture and environmental responsibility are integrated into the everyday logistics practice was also important.
This was enhanced by the knowledge of participants in the leadership side of Transcorp, who brought their experiences, as part of their line of specialization:
- Khaleelur Rahman, Head of HSE
- Ahmed Fathi, Fleet Manager
- Kishan Hanj, Senior Supervisor of operations.
- Kanaka Sriram, Technical Project Manager.
They jointly described the various career options in the logistics industry, both operations and fleet management, to technology and HSE, and the skills, mentality, and constant learning needed to succeed in a rapidly evolving business.
The visit was much more in line with the mission of Arcadia British School to develop happy, confident and globally minded learners.
Transcorp International takes pride in providing the expertise to allow students to leverage more information about logistics, warehousing, the ins and outs and the different spects of the industry. Housing Arcadia British School was not only the chance to demonstrate the logistics sector, it was also a valuable measure to motivate the following generation of lifelong learners and global citizens.
